About Signature Licks
The Signature Licks book/audio packs are especially formatted to give guitarists instruction on how to play a particular artist style by using the actual transcribed, "right from the record" licks! Designed for use by anyone from beginner right up to the experienced player who is looking to expand their insight. The books contain full performance notes and an overview of each artist or group's style with transcriptions in notes and tab. The audio accompaniment features playing tips and techniques, as well as playing examples at a slower tempo.

Well, this one has interesting aspects. A house band actually replay the original Django's song, with clarinet or violin depending of the historical recording they are approaching. It's sound like a Nashville band - all played on Martin's. The play at normal tempo each section of the songs, then a ver slowed down cover is played by the guitar with no rhythm section.

Of course the transcription are made by someone with an ear twice my size - those guys kick ass when it comes time to transcribe from a record. It's very close to what Django played, so close it's annoying sometimes cause they transcribe unintentian notes by Django. Of course the context is kinf of lost when not played by Django so those notes are to me annoying - they should be discarded.

The song selection, like so many books is questionnable. Some solos are just impossible to play - too hard, so why put them in general public books...

I still need to identify each of the tracks and give you the actual CD from the Integrale series where you can find the original recording.
